GLUTEN FREE BUTTERMILK BUNS A RECIPE INSPIRATION

Theses buns were so good, light and fluffy on the inside, slightly crunchy on the outside.  In looking at Andrew’s Cinnamon bun recipe, (which is the best gluten free Cinnamon Bun I have ever tasted!) I made some changes to the amounts, and the ingredients.  The amount here made 7 buns – next time I [...]

GLUTEN FREE YORKSHIRE PUDDING/AKA POPOVERS

I can not believe how delicious these gluten free Yorkshire Pudding/Popovers tasted.  Seriously, I am amazed.  Recently, Katie, at Thyme for Cooking did a post on Pop Overs.  (please check out Katie’s post for the original recipe) I knew I had to try making a Gluten Free version.  Then the next day, watching Jamie Oliver’s [...]

BANANA CHERRY WALNUT LOAF

I found these scrumptious cherries at Costco.  Have you tried them yet?  The first thing I look for in dried fruit or nuts of any kind, is that they do not have any nasty chemical preservatives.  These only contain sugar.  They are luscious, plump, sweet/tart yumminess!

They would be fabulous in granola, yogurt, muffins…. just look [...]

FILLET OF FISH BURGERS AND AN UPDATE

Sometimes it is just darn hard to take a decent picture!  I seem to have the occasional good day, and many not so good days, sigh.  Despite the picture, these fish burgers were a yummy meal, which we had with a creamy coleslaw, recipe pending.

The other part to this post, is that I made a [...]

Last week, a reader emailed me asking if my Whole Grain [...]

GLUTEN FREE BUNS/DINNER ROLLS

This was a recipe I wanted to play around with, after a nice long walk in our winter weather:

We did get about 8 inches of snow, the pond is still quite frozen, and although the snow is starting to melt, they are saying more is on the way.  We could not resist going for a [...]

A RECIPE REVIEW - ITALIAN BAGUETTES

I have yet another wonderful new cook book – it is called GLUTEN – FREE ITALIAN, by Jacqueline Mallorca.  I ordered this lovely cook book here.  Upon reading through some of the recipes, the first one I wanted to make was Jacqueline’s Italian-Style Baguettes.  Remember what really good quality bakery white bread tastes like toasted? [...]

OLD FASHIONED DATE WALNUT LOAF

This is another favorite old classic that I cannot remember where the original recipe came from.  I used to make this loaf all the time growing up.  It easily converts to gluten free, another tasty snacking bread, or to have with afternoon tea.  I am sure it would easily work with other gluten free flour [...]
